WHAT ARE THESE SOCKS MADE OF?
The socks are made up of 80% Bamboo, 15% Nylon and 5% Spandex.
Nylon and Spandex are added for stretch and durability.
The socks are dyed with AZO-free dyes.

WHY BAMBOO?
Bamboo is nature’s fastest growing and most sustainable resource.  It grows like a weed, literally.  Up to a yard of growth a day without any fertilizers or chemicals, unlike Cotton.  Additionally, Bamboo naturally irrigates itself requiring 1/3 less water in the growing phase than Cotton.  The resulting fiber is totally biodegradable leaving less clothing in our landfills.  It is naturally anti-microbial because of a natural bio-agent called "bamboo kun".  Many people who experience allergic reactions to other fabrics, do not with Bamboo because the fiber is naturally smooth and round without chemical treatment.  It also requires less dye than Cotton.  Bamboo is highly water absorbant and able to pull moisture away from the skin thereby reducing bacteria and odor.  Bamboo has amazing insulating properties which help to keep feet cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.  It has been described as being as soft as cashmere and only gets softer with age!

Bamboo plants do require a chemical process to be pulped and spun into Bamboo fiber.  However, when compared side by side to Cotton, Bamboo comes out on top.  Cotton requires heavy pesticides during the growing phase which not only affect the plants, but the soil it grows in.  Bamboo has no natural pests and therefore needs zero pesticides.  It actually leaves the soil more enriched than before it was planted.  Cotton also uses 24 times the amount of water in the manufacturing phase than Bamboo, which makes Cotton's overal impact on the environment vastly greater.  Basically, Bamboo rocks.

WHAT ARE AZO-FREE DYES?
AZO dyes include a compound that is known to shed carcinogenic aryl amines as the garments are worn, which contain metallic elements, creating several health risks.  Azo-dyed garments may also contain toxic chemicals such as chlorine bleach.  Our dyes are free from all that junk.

WHAT ARE THE CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THESE SOCKS?
Wash with like colors in warm water. Dry on normal heat. Slight wear is completely normal and expected for Bamboo fiber.  Wash before wearing.  Socks are not preshrunk so they will be larger out of the box.
